Vertigo
Vertigo is a type of dizziness characterized by a sensation of spinning or whirling, often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and loss of balance.
It is caused by problems with the inner ear or the brain. There are different types of vertigo, including peripheral vertigo, which is caused by a problem in the inner ear, and central vertigo, which is caused by a problem in the brain.
Physiotherapy treatment for vertigo depends on the underlying cause. For peripheral vertigo, the most common type, treatment may include exercises to improve balance and reduce dizziness, medications to reduce symptoms, or procedures to reposition displaced crystals in the inner ear.
At Functional Xcellence Anton can perform a physical exam and use diagnostic tests to determine the underlying cause of the vertigo and recommend appropriate treatment.
